TGA Media Release: First combination COVID-19 and influenza self-tests approved for Australia
Our General Manager, Mazz Gencer, said it is one the first TGA-approved multi-virus rapid antigen test in the Australian market.
“Australians will be available to purchase the TouchBio combo rapid antigen self-test kit within weeks to help combat the spread of COVID and Influenza A and B,” Mr Gencer said.
“The TouchBio combo rapid antigen self-test kit will deliver people with accurate results in 15 minutes from the comfort of their own homes or workplaces.”
Mr Gencer said a positive result of COVID-19 or Influenza A or B from a single nasal swab test will enable people to access treatment faster – reducing the risk of illness and easing the burden on the hospital system.
“We have been working around the clock with our partners to develop a single rapid antigen test that detects COVID-19 and the Influenza A and B viruses to help combat the increased risk of illness over months,” Mr Gencer said.
People are recommended to take a SARS-CoV-2 & Flu A/B Antigen Combo Test Kit – For Self-Testing when they feel unwell, have any symptoms, or have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19, or Influenza A or B viruses.
