Our little friends are big parts of our lives and when they start to exhibit signs that they are sick, it can often be difficult to determine the cause. Animal diagnostic testing helps us to find out what may be wrong with our pets so that we are able to determine the best course of treatment! Animal diagnostic tests have been developed to help animal owners and veterinarians pick up on potential diseases quickly, ensuring that treatment can begin immediately. These tests use bodily fluids like faeces, blood, plasma or serum to diagnose an animal. Within each of our testing products, you will receive all equipment needed to carry out the test as well as an instruction manual on how to complete the animal diagnostic tests. This guide will look into what animal diagnostic tests are, how they can be used and the conditions that they are able to diagnose.
Here at TouchBio, we have developed a series of different animal diagnostic tests under the brand
FastVEST which are able to quickly and accurately detect the presence of specific viruses and other pathogens in animals. These rapid antigen tests are highly accurate and provide quick results, making them a valuable tool for the diagnosis and treatment of various animal diseases. With FastVET, veterinarians and animal care professionals can get a diagnosis and begin treatment far more quickly, improving the chances of a successful outcome.
FastVET tests are easy to use and can be administered in a clinic or hospital setting. Simply collect a sample from the animal and perform the test on-site to obtain results within minutes
Key Highlights:
• Detects multiple viruses and other diseases in a single test
• Aids in the early diagnosis that can save our little friends’ lives.
• Reliable Test results- Very High Sensitivity (> 97%)
• Test results in just 10 – 15 minutes
• Reduces the diagnosis time and saves money.
• Minimises the dependency on other testing equipment.
The following is a look at each of the animal diagnostics tests that we have on offer.
Toxo Rapid Antibody Test Kit (For Canine & Feline):
A Toxo Rapid Antibody Test Kit is able to determine if a cat or a dog is infected with Toxoplasma Gondii (Toxo Ab). This disease infects both animals and humans through a parasite which can be passed on through food, water and even faeces (which could contaminate soil). You can get Toxoplasma Gondii (Toxo Ab) by ingesting the parasite, which could get passed without even knowing you had been infected.
If the parasite gets into your pet's lungs, however, it can have deadly consequences. Knowing whether or not your cat does have this parasite is extremely important, as it may unknowingly spread to other animals you may have and even to you and your family. This animal diagnostic test uses blood samples to quickly determine whether an animal is infected, offering results in minutes.
Giardia Rapid Antigen Test Kit (For Canine & Feline)
This rapid antigen test is used for the detection of Giardia duodenalis antigen (Ag) in both canine and feline faecal samples. This disease is spread between animals and can infect both cats and dogs, making it very important to test for if one of your other pets has been diagnosed. The fast and accurate results can ensure that if your pet does have this disease, treatment can begin immediately and give your furry family member the best chance of getting better!
CPV/CCV/Giardia Rapid Antigen Test Kit ( (For Canine)
The CPV/CCV/Giardia Rapid Antigen Test Kits diagnose Canine Parvovirus (CPV), Canine Coronavirus (CCV) and Giardia Duodenalis in canines. CPV is a highly contagious viral disease that can lead to severe gastrointestinal illness which can often lead to death, if not treated quickly. This disease is spread through indirect and direct contact with other canine faeces, making it extremely easy to spread.
Another contagious intestinal disease in dogs is Canine Coronavirus (CCV). No, this is not the same as Covid-19 and it is most dangerous to puppies, who do not yet have the antibodies and strength to fight this often severe stomach illness. This is also an extremely infectious disease that is spread through animal faeces.
The final gastro disease that is tested by the Canine CPV/CCV/Giardia Rapid Antigen Test is Giardia duodenalis, which is a parasite that is spread between animals. As these diseases are all similar in the stomach issues that they present, this animal diagnostic test will determine which one your canine is infected with.
FIV/FeLV Rapid Antigen Test Kit (For Feline)
The FastVET FIV/FeLV Rapid Antigen Test Kit will pick up on any antibodies that are specific to Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukaemia Virus (FeLV). Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) is one of the most common feline viruses in the world. FIV will attack the immune system of the cat, leaving it vulnerable to other viruses or bacteria that it may pick up within your home or from other animals. Regarding virus testing for animals, being proactive and quick in getting a diagnosis can make all the difference.
This virus works in a similar way to HIV, though the way that it is transmitted does differ. Unlike HIV, which can be transmitted through sexual contact or from a mother to her kittens, FIV is rather spread through casual contact with other cats. This makes it much more dangerous as it can spread to cats within a home or neighbourhood very quickly. A Feline FIV/FeLV Rapid Antigen Test Kit will be able to determine whether your cat has the antibodies present that signal an infection.
Feline Leukaemia Virus (FeLV) is similar to FIV in that it also attacks the immune system, leaving the cat without protection from other diseases. This two-in-one test gives a fast, accurate and clear diagnosis that will show results for these two diseases separately.
FCoV Ag + FCoV Ab Rapid Antigen Combo Test Kit (For Feline)
This test is designed for in vitro qualitative detection of Feline Coronavirus (FCoV) antigens and antibodies specific to FCoV in feline serum and plasma samples. The sample needed for this test is faeces and serum or plasma. The results are quick, with a diagnosis being made in just 10 minutes! The early diagnosis of both of these diseases is incredibly important as they can impact the immune system of the cat which could have severe and deadly consequences.
5 in1 Diarrhea Rapid Antigen Combo Test Kit (For Cattle)
